As part of Climate Week Prague, a discussion was held yesterday at the premises of the European Commission Representation in the Czech Republic, focusing on ESG reporting developments, the CSRD directive, and Omnibus I & II packages and their practical impacts.

During the event, comments were made on the current status of the hashtagOmnibus packages, introduced in the opening remarks by the European Commission representative, Ms. Gabriela Tschirkova from the cabinet of Commissioner Valdis Dombrovskis.

πŸ’‘What key insights were shared?
β€’ Communication from the European Commission on sustainability in general is insufficient and leads not only to legal uncertainty, but also to distrust of the steps taken on sustainability at the European legislative level.
β€’ Sustainability (or ESG) is not just about legislation; it is a market requirement, and so it is not a good move to ignore this agenda.
β€’ Banks will play an important role in setting trends, and they are only just beginning to comment on the Omnibus proposal.
