Maple syrup, poutine, and Niagara Falls were checked off by Lukas Ferkl and Kateřina Lorencová. Although, of course, they weren’t the main goals of the Canadian expedition. The primary aim was market research in Canada and attending two conferences.
Over five days, Lukas and Kateřina were mostly in downtown Toronto. They made numerous contacts and met representatives from various sectors: from local companies and entrepreneurs, consulting firms, the government, innovation and acceleration centers, to academia, banks, and manufacturing enterprises.
A key event was the visit to the ESG Summit, attended primarily by law firms. Here, they also met representatives from PwC and KPMG. At George Brown College, as part of the Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and Sustainability conference, Lukas spoke about a paper we dedicated to the topic “Navigating ESG Reporting Under European CSRD: Insights and Challenges from a Consultancy Start-up Perspective.”
The trip was conducted in collaboration with CzechTrade and the Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Toronto (special thanks to Eva Bartoňová and Karolina Konicarova for their assistance with the visit). We look forward to partnerships, opportunities, and sharing experiences! 🤝🍁
